One of the best things about residing in London, Ontario is its relatively low cost of living when compared to nearby cities. For example, living in London will cost nearly 40% less than living in Toronto!  That is a huge saving without sacrificing much!

The website, Expatistan, has compiled some fascinating data on the average cost of living in London.

The average home price in London was $332, 607 in December 2017. That’s less than Toronto, Hamilton, Waterloo, Niagara and the national average.

When it comes to homes in London, you’re paying less and getting more!

For transportation, Expatistan found the average cost of a litre of gas is $1.11 CAD, the price of a public transit per month is $80 CAD and a typical taxi fare will run you $30 CAD. London’s city council is embracing a metropolitan future and investing in public transit upgrades.

But living is about more than homes and transportation. I discuss London’s amazing nightlife in a separate post, but Expatistan estimates a night out for two will cost between $75 CAD and $200 depending on your tastes.
